Volume reduction
Pollution removal
Leachate produced by solid waste landfill is highly polluted and contains heavy metals, ammonia, phenols, pharmaceuticals, pesticides and residues of plastic decomposition (PFOA — endocrine disruptor). Most of these contaminants are in dissolved salt form.
The volume produced fluctuates drastically from year to year depending on rainfall. This is why a conventional biological process cannot be applied; only physical and chemical treatments are flexible enough.
Our compact reverse osmosis unit includes chemical and physical treatment through different filtration stages. The RO system purifies water using a membrane that only lets water molecules pass through.
Easy to install, mobile leachate treatment unit for landfill operators, reducing the cost of processing and disposing of leachate.
Reverse osmosis is a water purification system that removes dissolved solids through a fine filter that only allows water molecules to pass. Water contains solutes, notably salts. When two solutions of different concentrations are placed on either side of a membrane filter, water passes through until both concentrations are equally balanced — this is osmosis. By applying hydrostatic pressure (20–90 bars) exceeding osmotic pressure, water is forced through the membrane, creating a smaller volume (~30%) of purified water and a larger volume (~70%) of concentrated effluent.
Fast
Treatment units are mobile and can be remotely controlled for rapid installation on any site.
Compact
The entire installation fits in a dry container, or can be assembled on a skid platform for buildings.
Automated
Fully automated PLC system that constantly adjusts operation to optimise performance, with real-time diagnostics.
Compatible
Supplied in 2 or 3 filtration stages to meet local water quality regulations worldwide.
Flexible
Different capacities available to suit your needs. Available for purchase or rental.
Effective
Volume reduction 70-90%. Pollutant removal >99.9% for dissolved salts, heavy metals, COD, bacteria.
“We continue to promote OSMEO in Brazil. We are in a sensitive area with regard to the environment and OSMEO has outperformed the customer’s expectations. We are very happy with the performance and technology offered by OSMEO since we acquired the first unit and we are now waiting for the second OSMEO unit to be sent to Brazil.”
From landfill sites in France to international deployments - our compact reverse osmosis units deliver results wherever leachate is a challenge.
